I have the honour to acknowledge the

receipt of your letter No.H.K.0260 of 31st May, 1928,

enclosing a copy of telegrams passed between His

Excellency the Naval Commander-in-Chief and yourself,

concerning the possibility of cooperation with the

Government of Canton against the pirates of Bias

Bay, and to request you to be so good as to inform

His Excellency that so far as I am aware there has

never been any intention to undertake Naval

operations without previous reference to him.
